My mom passed away in 2014 from Pancreatic Cancer after a hard fought battle. We want to honor her sparkle of life and brave fight by raising money to fight the disease that took her.
She was an amazing woman that many loved. Her kindness and patience were legendary and she loved and supported all that she came in contact with. She fought Cancer bravely and was more worried about us than herself during her battle. She was selfless and gave freely.
She loved all things glittery and bright. She loved reading in the sun and spending time with her family. She was always up for an adventure and was always fun to be around. Her laugh was sweet and sincere and upon entering your house she would call “Helllllooooo!”
We miss her, and as a team we can do something great in her honor.
Why I’m Fundraising
Relay participants, including me, all raise funds because we’ve been affected by cancer in some way and because a Relay For Life event gives us the power to fight back. This is my opportunity to honor the cancer survivors in my life, remember friends and family I have lost, and help raise funds to support the American Cancer Society’s lifesaving mission.
Why I Support the American Cancer Society
Every day, the American Cancer Society helps people take steps to reduce their risk of cancer or find it early, when it is easiest to treat. They provide free information and services to cancer patients throughout their journey. The organization is investing in crucial research to prevent, treat, and ultimately, cure all cancers.
