The Coopersmith’s Pub & Brewing Team claimed silver for Sticky Fingers Saison in the Pro-Am at the Great American Beer Festival! The Great American Beer Festival is an annual competition that features breweries from around the world competing for the title of gold, silver, and bronze, which are the most coveted awards in the industry.
This year, Coopersmith’s Pub & Brewing claimed the silver award at the Pro-Am – the silver award classifies an excellent beer that may vary slightly from style parameters while maintaining close adherence to the style and displaying excellent taste, aroma, and appearance.
Pro-Am competition judges come from the same professional panel of world-class judges that evaluate all the beers at the Great American Beer Festival competition.
“I am so excited we won the Silver at the Pro-Am this year at GABF. Mark, the homebrewer was really stoked to win as well! Sticky Fingers Saison is his homebrew recipe that we scaled up from 10 gals to 7 bbl and keg-conditioned for 4 months. He had earned numerous awards from AHA competitions, and had been in 3 previous Pro-Ams at GABF but never medaled. This was a great result for him, and really awesome for Coopersmith’s being that it was a collaboration with the homebrew community”
Our Sticky Fingers Saison won us the 2022 silver award. Our friend Mark from The Brew Crew in Denver, CO came up with this unique beer recipe. It’s a classic Saison, fruited with Sauvignon Blanc grapes, hopped with Nelson Sauvin, Huell Melon and Saaz hops, and fermented with a traditional Saison yeast. We naturally carbonated this beer, for a rustic, spicy finish, and dense white foam. Thanks a ton to Mark for sharing his award-winning recipe with us.
The Sticky Fingers Saison is named after Mark’s daughter’s grape-eating technique: She would smoosh the whole grapes in her hand, and eat the delicious grape goo that would appear between her fingers. Her fingers became very sticky, hence the name.
