Scotch is a necessity to any fine pub. CooperSmith’s carries one of the largest single malt scotch selections in all of northern Colorado. We also offer some very interesting Blended (B) Whiskey. We offer these fabulous scotches in three flights as well as distinguishing the different regions that distilleries are located. The Lowland (L) region of Scotland is where a majority of the barley is grown and their distilleries echo that with a malty, light, easy tone. The Highland (H) region is by far the largest region and contains a plethora of distilleries. The Highlands contain even smaller regions like Speyside (S) where 50% of all scotch is produced. Because of the large number of whiskeys produced in the Highlands, it is difficult to pinpoint one characteristic but they do tend to be fuller and have a larger body than the Lowlands. At Coopersmith’s we carry Scotch from many Islands (I) including The Isle of Skye, The Isle of Islay and even the Orkney Islands. These seaside scotches are very big and peaty, sometimes offering notes of seaweed, pepper or iodine. They are great for cold Scottish (or Colorado) nights. Our Single Malt Scotch Whiskey can be enjoyed in 1 ½ oz. Drams or in ¾ oz. samples.
